Poseidon is the God of the Sea. He first appears in the song Under the Sand as a surf god that hangs out with Stonefather on the beach. But, he also entraps Stonefather in the beautiful island oasis in secret.
In the song Riptide, Stonefather is clearly under Poseidon's spell where time and thought are ephemeral. Stonefather confronts Poseidon way out in the sea and is encouraged to go with the flow.
